| Event Description | This half day course has been designed to introduce subject leaders and co-ordinators in the primary phase to the current Health and Safety standards. These standards are the new national benchmark and are now the Worcestershire adopted scheme. During the course participants will: ' be updated on the national scheme; ' be familiar with the requirements; ' be introduced to the regulatory framework; ' consider general risk assessment; ' consider COSHH and HACCP assessments; ' look at teaching strategies to support good Health and Safety practices. As a result of attending the course, it is intended that participants will collate a portfolio of evidence. This will support those Design & Technology activities undertaken in their own schools. Portfolios of evidence will be assessed to the required standards. On satisfactory completion, participants will be awarded a certificate of competence under the Worcestershire Health & Safety scheme. |
