Event/course Code CON/21/433
Event/course type Conference / Early Years Curriculum / Network, forums, briefings, meetings and conferences / Staff Development & Awareness / Step Up into the EYFS
Event Description The Early Years Team are delighted to bring you a full day of inspirational and motivational keynotes and workshops exploring the most talked about and current need to know topics in early years provision.

This unmissable day aims to motivate, refresh and inform you and your team. We have chosen to hold the event over two days so that those of you attending on the Saturday have no cover costs and so may wish to send several members of your team. Also, we hope that local Childminders will be able to join us.

A Fresh Perspective on the New EYFS
Neil Farmer will take us through the new EYFS and Development Matters frameworks. He will offer an alternative take on the opportunities it gives us to develop our practice as well as looking at the potential challenges.

An Introduction to SchemaPlay; John Siraj-Blatchford and Lynnette Brock
Join internationally renowned John and Lynnette for a fascinating look at schema play. Discover more about the phenomenon of the Zone of Proximal Developmental Flow, a state of optimal learning that young children enter into as they become absorbed in learning through play.

Sensory storytelling and language acquisition; Katrice Horsley
From witnessing the power that story wields in creating powerful change, Katrice has developed a narrative-based process that enables organisations, communities and individuals to start to create the stories they want to live.

Promoting Young Children’s Health and Wellbeing; Sonia Mainstone-Cotton

We are in a time when nurturing the well-being of young children has never been so important. Sonia has a wealth of expertise grounded in her own extensive experience that translates into easily adaptable strategies for you to utilise in your own settings.

Training Objectives There will be opportunities for each person attending to visit two workshops, hear four keynote addresses and plenty of time to network with our exhibitor partners, Worcestershire Children First early years specialists and your colleagues.
