Event Description A 90-minute INSET opportunity which covers:
• Overview of autism and its impact on a young person’s social skills
• A look at strategies to support social understanding
• How to use scripts to prepare for a new situation
• When to use a script
• How to write a script
• How to make scripts effective
Each delegate will:
• Develop a greater insight into a young person’s understanding of social situations
• Support a young person’s social and emotional understanding of how they and others might respond in a particular situation
• Create differentiated age and level appropriate scripts to help in a variety of situations
